Check your BMS
Daly smart BMS boards come with different communication options: Bluetooth only, UART, RS485 or CAN, sometimes through a small add-on module. MoniWatt for Daly uses RS485. If your BMS only has Bluetooth, write to us before ordering.
1. Locate the RS485 port
On boards with an RJ45 RS485 port, use it directly. On boards with a separate RS485 module, plug the module into the BMS as Daly intends, and connect the box to the module. Send us a photo if in doubt; we reply with where to connect.
2. Connect and power
Connect the supplied cable to the box, then power the box from a USB charger. The screen turns on.
Never connect the box to the balance leads or the pack terminals. Communication port only.
3. Wi-Fi
Join the box’s setup Wi-Fi from your phone, choose your home network, set a password.
4. Dashboard
Open http://moniwatt.local. Cells and pack values appear within seconds. Compare a cell voltage with the Daly app to be sure everything matches.
If it stays empty
- Some Daly boards sleep when the pack is idle: put a small load or charge on the pack to wake it.
- Check the RS485 module is the one Daly supplies for your board.
- Send us the diagnostics page and a photo of the BMS label.
